Placement Testing
How does placement testing work?
Testing will take about an hour and a half, perhaps up to two hours if there are many people taking the test at the same time - this includes the written and verbal assessment. Placement testing dates are posted below several weeks in advance of each new class session. Please plan to arrive early if concerned with time!
Who needs to take a placement test?
New students registering for any Spanish class above Beginner 1 must complete placement testing. Beginning 1 students do not need to take a placement test - you can just register!
With the exception of our Advanced classes, current students can just register for the next level. Advanced Spanish class students are expected to have an advanced level of speaking and writing and also must complete placement testing prior to registering.
Is there a cost for placement testing?
No, all our placement testing is free of charge!
