Engaging community and faith groups in discussion, Latino Voices explores personal stories of immigrants in the context of economic and social forces that cause migration. We expand knowledge of push & pull forces that cause families to uproot or divide, and share successes, contributions and challenges of immigrants. Sharing these stories with the community offers an alternative to the one-sided and negative portrayal of immigrants in the United States. Latino Voices offers the opportunity to hear the real life stories of today’s immigrants and ask participants to question mainstream media and help break down cross-cultural barriers of fear. Come and join us! Learn more about Latino Voices.
There will be a Latino Voices presentation at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 29th at 9:15 am and the public is welcome to attend! Join us in hearing the personal stories of Latino youth and adult immigrants paired with information about the social, economic and political factors contributing to the the separation of families and migration of millions of individuals out of Latin America. Become updated with the most current info and resources surrounding U.S. immigration issues.
