What:
SUMMER FUNDRAISING FIESTA!!! Tasty Latin American snacks, drinks (with and without alcohol), live Colombian folk music*, good people, and good conversation. It will be a chance for you to meet lots of other great folks from around the Twin Cities who are invested in our work in one way or another. There is also a basketball hoop.
Who:
You, and any friends of yours who might be interested in learning about and supporting La Conexión de las Américas. Whether you are staff, program participants, volunteers, board members, community members, past and current donors, or anyone else interested in our work, we would like to welcome you to this party.
Why:
Because house parties on gorgeous summer afternoons are fun. We would also like to bring together and introduce the many different communities and stakeholders who support our work. Donations of any size are welcomed.

No RSVP is required (we’d love to see you and your friends there, no matter what!) but it would be helpful for us to have an idea of how many folks to expect. * We are honored and excited to have live music provided by Rubén Darío Gómez; Colombian guitarist, composer and singer. His style as a soloist is based on timbre and technical experimentation, as an expert interpreter of classical guitar and Latin-American music. Rubén is also a member of the Atemporánea Guitar Quartet, a renowned chamber ensemble in Colombia. As a soloist and with the quartet, he has had performed in Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Cuba and the United States. (Check him out at his myspace page.)

* Nos sentimos honrados y emocionados de tener música en vivo por Rubén Darío Gómez, guitarrista colombiano, compositor y cantante. Su estilo como solista se basa en el timbre y la experimentación técnica, como intérprete experto de la guitarra clásica y música latinoamericana. Rubén también es miembro del Cuarteto Atemporánea guitarra, un conjunto de cámara de renombre en Colombia.
