Summary

The recently completed the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party approved a set of economic reform measures that will transform the Cuban economy in the coming years, due in large part to the world economic crisis of the past three years. The Congress also instituted a process of generational transition in the leadership of the Party. Professors Morales and De Llano, two respected academic figures and political activists, will be coming to analyze the importance of these developments within the context of Cuba and its 50-year history after the Cuban Revolution.
