In this presentation, Paul and Nathan explore the historical role of the US in suppressing both the will and economic wellbeing of the Haitian people. They will also discuss the ways in which media narratives about Haiti ignore historical and structural factors. They will also highlight how these trends apply to the electoral crisis currently underway in Haiti.
