Local author Burt Berlowe and contributor Jackie Mosio will discuss Burt’s new book, Compassionate Rebel Revolutionaries, which presents the engaging stories of human rights artists and activists.
Juan Linares will also come. He will be speaking as a featured story in Burt’s book. The story of Latino community organizer Juan Linares focuses on his role in the creation of the Mercado Central on Lake Street in Minneapolis. Writer Jacqueline Mosio contributed the interview with Juan. She recently published Getting a jump on Life, written with Aileen Fritsch, that tells the story of a woman who was ahead of her time and made her own way that included skydiving at 90 years of age. Jackie Mosio served as a RCTA board member and writes about Mexico.
She and Burt will also talk about the importance of people’s stories and story-collecting methodology.
Come meet the authors and several “revolutionaries” from the book, one or more of whom may be a neighbor of yours. Learn what a compassionate rebel story is all about and how to tell yours!
